Music is the purest of all the art forms. And like every other aspect of our lives, music has also evolved with time. Unlike the good old days, now there is a wide variety of music genres. Among which EDM, Trance, and Techno are the popular ones. Chris Burke is one such newly emerging music producer, successful enough to create a buzz in the international music scene. Debuting from his band Cold California, Chris has made it this far that his track got featured on a radio show by Tiesto himself. Hailing from Scotland, Chris has already made a huge fan base. This article is surely going to add a lot more to your Spotify list.
Born in 1995 early 2000s played a huge part in the upbringing of young Chris. He opened his eyes in the house of an engineer. Being an engineer himself and excelling in arts and music, Chris had the perfect balance of yin and yang. Chris also got a college degree in Mechanical Engineering and ran a successful hiring and technical agency for quite some time but not until he realized that his real passion was producing some REAL good music.
His inspirations in the music industry are the legends and BIG NAMES like Eminem, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, and Nirvana. The first concert that Chris attended was also of Foo Fighters, with his father, in 2007. Specifically, the Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana remained on the loop in his childhood days, as told by himself. Besides listening to these songs like every other human being, Chris always had a technical and skeptical eye for them. He was way into the notes, beats, symphonies, and rhythms of these songs and compositions. He was always curious about what makes people go crazy by just listening to some good music.
This curiosity and utter passion for music made him jump right into the mainstream. He debuted with his band Cold California. There, he and his buddies focused on experimenting with their music. Chris has been doing all this at just the age of 16. After several rounds of refinement and experimentation, Chris and the company decided to go public with Cold California. Considering this as his first-time public performing venture, Chris was excited and equally nervous. But it all went pretty well as they started making some fat stacks by 2017. Chris had turned 24 by then.
While Chris got dominantly inspired by Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, and Eminem, he remained utterly original during his debuting years. He wanted to have a place of his own in the modern music scene, which he did! The beats, the compositions, and even the lyrics were written by himself. And all this hard work sure did pay off when Cold California received this much acclamation worldwide. Throughout this time, Chris remained focused on producing pop and country music. Although he was pretty good at it still, the audience for those genres was quite limited, and the newly emerging genres like EDM were getting some stares and gazes from everywhere.
It was during those days that Chris came across the tracks of Calvin Harris. Like all the listeners, he was quite fascinated by Calvin’s music. But he remained a bit skeptical and kept his eyes open about the technical stuff. Deeply influenced by Calvin, you can find a progressive streak in Chris’s music. With this bashing debut into the EDM realm, Chris soon made it to the headlines. By the way, Chris came to know about Calvin through Bebo, the popular social networking platform.
Carrying on this momentum, Chris released two of his most praised singles in 2019, by the time he was merely 24. Space and Time and Dreamers are still the highlights of his career, even after years of their release. The songs were hyped, particularly at house and club parties, owing to their catchy beats and minimal yet hitting lyrics. Besides making people go crazy, the tracks also had psychedelic and refreshing touch to them. His next single, Never Really Liked You, even got featured on Tiesto’s radio show.
After making his name known among EDM enthusiasts, Chris ventured into Trance as well. It happened when he went to a Gareth Emery concert in Orlando, Florida. Chris was on vacation there in 2019. Just the calmness and soothing power of the genre made him compose his signature tunes in this style. Eventually, by 2020 Chris became a global sensation when he released The Night while collaborating with a Russian music producer Eximinds. The track got released on Suanda Records in the March of 2020. Chris has even more ventures planned in the pipeline for 2021, so let’s see what comes out of this young and innovative mind that further enlightens the music scene of 2021. My advice to you will be to give it a shot and listen to this young man. Man, the tracks are addictive! At least I am listening to them on loop right now for like a week or so.
